First, it was the arms heard round the internet. Now, it is back muscles. The Acolyte really is just a great show for fans of Manny Jacinto, and we’re not complaining about it! Episode 5 and 6 really delivered for the Jacinto hive.

In episode 5 “Night,” Qimir (Jacinto) is revealed to be the Stranger, and what we all were gifted with was a lot of arms—arms killing, arms flexing … arms. It broke us. So many of us could not stop talking about arms, and the entire internet had to have a “come to Jesus” moment about Jason Mendoza from The Good Place. (Not me, I was already there, but I guess I’m different.)

What happened to poor Marcus (Lionel Boyce) in The Bear’s season 2 finale? Did the titular Bear finally make an onscreen appearance and eat him? Was HE the gourmet meal all along? Tragic. Senseless. Yet foreshadowed the whole time. Or maybe not. Wait, what happened again?

What happened to Marcus in The Bear Season 2?

Marcus Brooks starts The Bear season 2 with big dreams. He wants to be the Julia Child of pastry chefs but with less butter involved. If only his ailing mother was a little less ailing. Then he could devote all his attention to his craft rather than worry about her. Thankfully, he dips on her and galavants over to Copenhagen, where he is trained by pastry guru Luca (Will Poulter). Luca gives Marcus some pastry tricks and a few life lessons along the way. “Don’t be the greatest, but just the best you can be,” is the gist of it.

Bluey is a show about a lovable family of anthropomorphic dogs that aims to teach life lessons to kids and their parents through humor and heart. So what the heck is a Burger Dog? What kind of show teaches cannibalism to young minds? Is it really a dog-eat-dog world?

What is a Burger Dog?

Burger Dog is not actually the result of dog-on-dog cannibalism, despite what the name would have you believe. Burger Dog is not even a food whatsoever. Burger Dog is a person. A musical artist, to be specific. Burger Dog also just so happens to be the title of the very first Bluey minisode.

Them Dragons, y’all! I think House of The Dragon fans say this at least ten times during an episode due to the sheer incompetence of the current government at King’s Landing and the opposition party (mainly Daemon).

But the biggest enemy of House Targaryen has always been their need to be secretive and keep up pretenses, which leads to miscommunication. It screwed them over during the Dance of the Dragons, ending their reign over the Seven Kingdoms that Aegon the Conqueror and his sisters so painstakingly brought with fire and blood. And as if that wasn’t a lesson enough, they continued to let Aegon’s dream and their pretenses ruin them a second time, losing them the Iron Throne and almost ending their line!

Fans of the K-drama Big Mouth aren’t over its heartbreaking ending. Viewers of another popular K-drama, Queen of Tears, feared that this new lead couple would initially suffer the same fate that Chang-ho (Lee Jong-suk) and Mi-ho (Im Yoon-ah) did.

The parallels between Hong Hae-in and Go Mi-ho announcing their terminal illnesses during press conferences have been eerily similar. Those who’ve watched both dramas will also notice how similar Hyun-woo’s reaction is to Chang-ho’s once his wife made her condition public. Both scenarios had been heartbreaking to hear, even for those in front of their streaming devices.

The Showtime original series Dexter ran for eight seasons before being revived as a limited series called Dexter: New Blood in 2021. A run that long means viewers saw a lot of violence from protagonist Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), a vigilante murderer whose specialty is hiding in plain sight.

Dexter premiered on October 1, 2006, and wrapped up its original run on September 22, 2013. The eighth season was not particularly popular among fans, especially because Dexter’s sister Debra Morgan (Jennifer Carpenter) spends the season in a downward spiral that, unfortunately for her, doesn’t end until she hits rock bottom. By the end of the series, Debra meets a rather inauspicious demise, but how … and who done it?

Luckily, you’ve got me here to help you break down all the portal-hopping, timeline altering, and power-siphoning that goes down in the Supacell season one finale.

Like it or not, Star Wars is, at its core, about love. Yes, X-wings and TIE fighters aside, George Lucas’ original vision for the franchise resembles something closer to a soap opera than a sci-fi epic, with Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) and Padmé Amidala’s (Natalie Portman) forbidden romance being a central focus of the prequel trilogy. And with love comes, well … “Hey, point that thing somewhere else!”

On The Acolyte, we’re seeing the Jedi when they are (arguably) at their strongest in Star Wars and … it certainly is something. We’re seeing how their strict rules restrict them from doing the work they need to, and well, it means there is really only one good Jedi among them.

In episode 6 “Teach/Corrupt,” we get to see a story split between the twins: Mae (Amandla Stenberg) with Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae) and Osha (Stenberg) with Qimir (Manny Jacinto) on an unknown planet. But that doesn’t stop the Jedi Order from messing with them. Vernestra Rwoh (Rebecca Henderson) is going to find Sol and help him (despite her hatred of flying), and her actions are a bit suspect.

The Acolyte episode 6, “Teach/Corrupt,” introduces a mystery planet to the Star Wars universe, which some fans are convinced is actually Ahch-To, the planet where Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) went into exile and Rey (Daisy Ridley) received her Jedi training.

The latest episode of The Acolyte explores the aftermath of the devastating battle on Khofar as the remaining Jedi and Qimir (Manny Jacinto) go their opposite ways. As for the latter, he takes Osha (Amandla Stenberg) to an entirely different planet. Usually, when Star Wars movies or shows arrive on a planet, the planet’s name will appear on a title card. However, The Acolyte makes an unusual move, simply referring to the planet as an “Unknown Planet.” The planet where Qimir is stationed has one extremely valuable and rare resource: Cortosis. In Star Wars canon, Cortosis primarily existed on the planets Dinzo and Mokivj, but this planet doesn’t appear to be either of those.

It’s ironic that audiences have been eagerly waiting for war sequences on House of The Dragon, yet the show’s biggest message remains anti-war. In fact, Rhaenyra Targaryen’s recent meeting with Queen Alicent proves just how much they don’t want war to break out. But the men … oh, the men.

Browsing X like we do the day after a new HOTD episode has aired, I came across tweets from fans displeased that once again, we get an episode where everyone’s just talking about war, and the actual war isn’t being fought. “Why didn’t Baela Targaryen let Moondancer ‘dracarys’ Ser Criston and Ser Gwayne?” “What happened to Rhaenyra’s rage after losing Luke? Why is she making pleas to the enemy to stop the war?” “Why was the Battle of the Burning Mill not shown?”

Who murdered Frank Chapman? Unfortunately, Detective Inspector Rachita Ray (Parminder Nagra) is no closer to finding out. Though it seems like she’s making progress every episode, plenty of roadblocks pop up along the way, and Ray is forced to start all over again.

By the end of D.I. Ray season 2, episode 3, “The Hunt for Rav,” she does at least have a solid lead, however, though it certainly came at a price. After visiting her corrupt cop of an ex-fiancé, who once again tried to use their history to manipulate her, she now knows she needs to find a man named Lou Kirby, a co-founder of the Chapman gang. As her ex, Martyn (Jamie Bamber), reveals, Kirby was released from a 20-year stint in prison less than a month before Frank Chapman was brutally murdered. Coincidence? Perhaps not.
